If you’re like me, you learned to start a crochet project with a row of chain stitches. Unfortunately, working into chain stitches can be tedious and lead to frustration before you even get to the fun part! I discovered a quick and easy way to start a project without the chains by creating a crocheted foundation row.
This is a simple skill to learn, but it also provides flexibility at the project’s edge that can’t be matched with a traditional chain row start.
Check out the video tutorial below to get the step-by-step demonstration to create a foundation row.
And, the best part is that you can use this in place of a chain row on any project; it’s fantastic!
So, once you have mastered this skill, you can create comfortable hats, stretch washcloths, and adorable soft edges for sweaters and mittens.
If you’re ready to start but need a little help, book a Solo Stitching Class, and I will walk you through it one-on-one.
Also, you can DM me anytime on Instagram and we can chat. I would love to hear from you!
Happy Stitching!
